America at 250: What Is Your Hope for the Future?

As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary, many Americans are reflecting on the country’s history, accomplishments, challenges, and future. People may see the nation’s past and present in very different ways, but this milestone offers an opportunity to consider what kind of future we hope to create for generations to come.

At this meeting, we’ll explore hopes, concerns, and aspirations for the future of the United States, and reflect on how our own experiences, values, and observations shape the way we imagine what lies ahead.

We’ll ask questions such as:

• When you think about the future of the United States, what gives you hope, and what experiences have shaped that hope?
• What experiences in your life have most influenced the way you think about America’s future?
• Are there values, traditions, or aspects of American life that you especially hope future generations will preserve? What has made those meaningful to you?
• When you imagine the country 25 years from now, what concerns or possibilities feel most personal or real to you, and why?

This will be an opportunity to explore different perspectives on the future of the United States and reflect on what we hope the next chapter of the American story might look like.
